Alright y’all its January 11th, and this month has already been crazy; I have been from Fort Worth to Houston three times, my sweet Paigey and Rachi Rose had birthdays, I started a diet (aka no birthday cake), and I’ve watched a lot of basketball. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, because honestly I haven’t had a second to sit down and write. I wrote a post that I had fully intended on posting last week, but after re-reading it I was straight up hangry, and I promise you no one wants a hangry post.
So if y’all are wondering if this new diet is my New Year resolution, the answer is no. This year instead of setting a resolution that is damn near impossible for me to obtain, I am going to make a promise to myself to be the best person I can be on the inside and out. I am on this diet, not because society tells me I need to be skinny, but because I want to be healthier.
I am going to be as open and honest with y’all with this process as I possibly can be. Which includes me letting y’all know right now that I DESPISE working out. Legit when I’m watching basketball, I get tired watching all of the running that goes on. Thank gosh for Pure Bare, because it’s the only work out I actually enjoy. I have friends who love going to the gym, because it relieves stress. That is when I tell them, shopping does the exact same thing for me. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING that a little retail therapy can’t fix. Who’s with me?
So in honor of my new and improved healthy lifestyle, here are my Top 10 Tips for Getting Healthy:
1. exercise: this can be a brisk 15 minute walk, or a Pure Bare class just make sure you’re active for at least 15 minutes a day
2. plan: it’s so hard to eat healthy when you don’t know what all you have. Make it easier on yourself and plan out all your meals and snacks ahead of time.
3. get on those scales: weigh yourself everyday, and keep a journal of your weight. It’ll make it easier to see what’s working and what’s not
4. zzzzz: gets those zzzz’s guys! Sleep is so so important. Try and get at least 6 hours a night
5. water: make sure you are drinking plenty of water like 64oz a day
6. activity tracker: apple has made it so easy with their apple watches so you can see exactly how much you are doing a day
7. breakfast: eat breakfast y’all. This has been a tough one for me.
8. cut the carbs: its tough at first but after a week or so it’s easier to say no
9. patience: it takes time to see results. I am the kind of person that wants something right away and I am having to tell myself daily that it does take times to see results.
10. splurge: its okay to cheat very once in a while. If I want a Chimy’s marg, you all know I can’t resist!
